Popular activities at Aruba include swimming, snorkeling, paddling, boating, windsurfing, jet skiing, and fishing.
Equipment can either be rented in the community or right on the beach.
One of the newer sports to become popular in Aruba is called flyboarding.
A flyboard is a water-based jetpack that is connected to personal watercraft (PWC) by a long hose. The PWC propels the flyboard into the air using water pressure.
The rider uses a pair of special boots with jet nozzles underneath to fly to an elevation of up to 50 feet (15 meters).
The Caribbean Sea is a wonderful place to sail. The waters off Palm Beach and the east coast of the island of Aruba are well suited for sailing as they are generally calm and clear.
Sailboats can be rented in Oranjestad, just south of Palm Beach Aruba.
Parasailing is another popular sport in Aruba. In short, a person is strapped to a parachute of sorts that is pulled by a boat.
As the boat accelerates, the person ascends high into the sky. The parachute or kite that is used is normally brightly colored.
Palm Beach Village Centre
The community of Palm Beach on Aruba is a very pleasant place to explore. It incorporates both Dutch and Caribbean design characteristics. It is also compact and easy to get around.
A variety of shops and services are available in the village including cafes, restaurants, equipment rental shops, souvenir shops, and food markets. You'll even find a McDonald's with free Internet access!
Relax and live it up while you cruise the ocean. There are lots of cruises to choose from: day cruises combined with snorkeling, sunset, dinner, dance & moonlight cruises. You can enjoy a great view of coral formations and marine life, as well as wrecks with a visibility at some sites of over 90 ft.
Deep Sea Fishing
Many fishing charter boats are available at the Renaissance Marina. The variety of the fish is vast and Atlantic game fish are abundant. Sailfish, white and blue marlin, wahoo, shark, barracuda, amberjack, kingfish, bonito, and black and yellow fin tuna are in plentiful supply. You could sail out either for half or full day charters. Prices range from US$ 220 to US$ 320 for a half day charter, or US$ 400 to US$ 600 for a full-day charter.
