Popular activities at Aruba include swimming, snorkeling, paddling, boating, windsurfing, jet skiing, and fishing.

Equipment can either be rented in the community or right on the beach.

Flyboarding

One of the newer sports to become popular in Aruba is called flyboarding.

A flyboard is a water-based jetpack that is connected to personal watercraft (PWC) by a long hose.  The PWC propels the flyboard into the air using water pressure.

The rider uses a pair of special boots with jet nozzles underneath to fly to an elevation of up to 50 feet (15 meters).

Sailing

The Caribbean Sea is a wonderful place to sail.  The waters off Palm Beach and the east coast of the island of Aruba are well suited for sailing as they are generally calm and clear.

Sailboats can be rented in Oranjestad, just south of Palm Beach Aruba.

Parasailing

Parasailing is another popular sport in Aruba.  In short, a person is strapped to a parachute of sorts that is pulled by a boat.

As the boat accelerates, the person ascends high into the sky. The parachute or kite that is used is normally brightly colored.
